Introduction

SRS Safety Services, Inc., is an Exterior Building Maintenance (EBM) safety consulting and engineering firm. SRS pioneered the now Cal/OSHA required Operating Procedures Outline Sheet (OPOS), and its own copyrighted OSHA Compliance Documentation Manual. SRS' copyrighted OPOS format was used by Cal/OSHA as a guideline in drafting the new OPOS requirement 8 CCR 3282(p)(1). SRS maintains a unique position as an innovator within the EBM Industry, as its founders were instrumental in the creation and implementation of many current OSHA and ANSI Standards, many of which are found within the I-14.1 Standard and Article's 5 and 6 of California OSHA's General Industry Safety Orders.

SRS Principal, Rick Scott has been a leader in the Exterior Building Maintenance industry for over 30 years. He has owned and managed successful exterior maintenance companies before devoting full time to the safety end of the industry with SRS. He co-founded and served as an officer and board member on several industry associations and safety committees. Rick's experience and industry leadership has led to involvement with various local and federal safety standards including invitations to serve on Cal/OSHA Advisory Committees. Additionally, he is an original committee member of the recently published ANSI/IWCA I-14.1 Window Cleaning Safety Standard. Mr. Scott has been a frequent seminar speaker for various organizations including the International Window Cleaning Association and Building Owners Maintenance Association and has testified as an expert witness before the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. Since 1979, Rick has enjoyed working with hundreds of Building Owners and Exterior Maintenance Contractors offering OSHA compliance assistance and various Exterior Building Maintenance Consulting and Engineering Services. SRS recognizes the ever changing regulatory requirements that affect Building Owners and Tradesmen alike and also establishes the need for continuous consulting, and educational programs to ensure maximum awareness and compliance.
